Engadget had a source inside Sprint offices to bring us a screenshot that leaks the price for the Touchstone dock. If you don’t know what that is, it works with a special magnetized non-stick battery cover for the Palm Pre to power up the batteries without a plug. Seems like a lot to simply charge a battery, you can also answer a call when you detach the phone from the dock. Ahhh…
Out of the box, the Palm Pre’s standard battery cover will not be compatible with the Touchstone battery charger. According to Palm’s official Twitter account, the Touchstone battery charger and its required back cover will be available as a bundle or separately.
A marketing manager showing off the Palm Pre says that Touchstone is the name of an entire line of products. The first will be a charging dock, which we all have seen many times in videos. Watch the video.
I’m in the United States and my AT&T contract ended two months ago. After reading, that the Palm Pre will be exclusive to Sprint when it comes out, I’m a little disappointed that I have to switch carriers. I’m an early adopter and like to be among the first few to own the latest and coolest device. I know I’m not alone. Will you switch to Sprint to get the Palm Pre?
